SmartClick Operation Notes

SmartClick is designed to operate seamlessly with Windows. However, due to limitations in the various releases of Windows by Microsoft, the following notes identify some issues that may affect operation. It may be worthwhile to verify you are on the most recent service pack for your current version of Windows.

Basic Operation

When Active, SmartClick will perform a mouse left-click after the dwell time expires (dwell time settable in SmartClick preferences). You must move the mouse outside of the Jitter distance (also in SmartClick preferences) to reset the timer. To select double-click, drag, or other options hover over the SmartClick palette icon, and the item will be highlighted once selected. Now move to the location you wish to perform the operation (e.g. double-click), and hover until the dwell time expires - the selected action will occur at the new location. The palette icons, layout, colors, configuration, etc. may all be set within SmartClick preferences.

Desktop

Taskbar - it is highly recommended that the Auto-Hide option be turned Off on the Taskbar (Taskbar Properties / Taskbar & Start Menu Settings.

You can quickly get at the following options by clicking on the SmartClick Icon: SmartClick Visible, SmartClick Active, SmartClick Preferences, Direct Select Menu, Display Info Window, and Single Action Only.

Play Sounds

If Play Sounds is On while using SmartClick, it may affect other sound events in the system - Windows Event sounds (Program open/close, Menu selections, etc.), Text-To-Speech, etc.
