By design, these "applications" directly access the video hardware, and bypass normal Windows video & screen display approaches. By design, The Magnifier will not work with any non-standard application software that uses these approaches. The Magnifier is designed to work with normal Windows applications that follow the rules & guidelines offered by Microsoft for operation within the normal Windows environment.

In general, similar issues to DirectX (above) also apply to full-screen video, where the display is being drawn to directly, bypassing the application software and preventing the use of The Magnifier. In some cases, the video display may be affected by The Magnifier (especially on Vista/7) (dependent on the capabilities of the video adapter in the system). You may need to hide (Alt-S), or close The Magnifier when viewing full-screen video.
